What happens at a checkup and cleaning
Health history review
We go over your medical history, medications and any concerns, so your care is safe and personal.
Professional cleaning
Our hygienist removes plaque, tartar and surface stains that brushing and flossing can't reach, then polishes your teeth.
Digital X-rays when needed
Digital X-rays use less radiation than film and help find cavities between teeth and problems below the gum line.

She checks your teeth, gums, bite and existing fillings or crowns, and screens for signs of oral cancer.

We're in-network with CareFirst BCBS (including FEP BlueDental), Aetna, Cigna, MetLife, Guardian, GEHA, Physicians Mutual, Ameritas, Humana, Reliance Standard Life and Medicare Advantage plans, and we check your benefits before treatment. Most PPO plans cover preventive visits at a high level.

How often should we have a checkup and cleaning?
Most people do well with a checkup and cleaning every six months. Dr. Chittamuri may recommend more frequent visits if you have gum disease or a higher risk of cavities.
Do you see children?
Yes. Dr. Chittamuri is happy to see children as part of their family's visits.
Can family members be scheduled together?
Yes. When availability allows, we can book family members back to back so you make just one trip.
